black Headunit
Ok I dont know much about car audio, but im looking for a decent head unit that is black in colour, like ALL black, I want it to blend with the black dash as much as possible. Hope this makes sense.

How about something made by Black & Decker? I think their Blackinator is a pretty sweet unit, or if not that you can always go with the classic Blacky or the Blackster
J/k, go with a Panasonic Ghost head unit, they are pretty kew and about as black as you can get

I have a sony deck that is all black... and it is has a motorized face plate. It has only one small button on the front that lights up red to match the dash(it flips open the deck) and it has "sony" printed on the front in the upper left hand corner in white. Very good looking. Also the deck has a feature that allows for a "blackout" screen when playing cds... I'm not even sure if they still are making them but I think it matchs an all black interior perfectly.

The Panasonic Ghost I am referring too has an all black face, but it is touch screen. 1 DIN size, fully functional, a really cool deck IMO.
I don't know if they make them anymore, and I don't know how much they cost either, but I bet it would suit your taste very well

AND, since there apparently isnt reason enough yet, its got large buttons, JUST like a stock radio!
god I love nak. if you are looking for a quality cd transport unit with minor features and a darn near stock look, look no further! nak has got it all!

Yeah, I ran that particular panasonic deck for about three days. It was shotty stuff. I don't like it, some may, I don't. I'd rather run a JVC unit than one of those particular units. It was not up to par with me. Sorry if you disagree. I tried it, I tested it, found it to be a marketing ploy, and waaaaaay overpriced for the way it performed.

Well the only person I know who has a ghost has it in the podium for his SPL car... he's a professional and tested several brands before going with Panasonic so I know they are good..
For daily driving though, I dunno

Just cause someone uses it in one competition vehicle makes it a good unit? That's a new concept to me. I know people that have competition vehicles with stuff in it that they'd never run, but they use that product cause it was provided for them. Plus, in most comp vehicles the HU doesn't play as big a factor as the install, the way they set up their EQ's, among various other things.
i sold sony for many years and had plenty of them come back...this was about 2 years ago though...i use there stuff in my house but never had much luck on the car audio side of things
I would reccomend the Nak to anybody!!! the only thing i dont like from nak is the old 6 disc in dash changer...friend had one in his SQ car and broke 3 times...he ended up going with a 45z then up to the CD700II

The reason I dont like sony? I had one, it sucked ***. All of the ones that I have saw or installed, there was a problem in one aspect or another. Some people like them. I, personally, do not care for them from first hand experiance. Some of their older stuff was alright, but that was also before I cared about SQ, and just wanted ghetto boom.

this is a forum. constructive product bashing is part of disscussion. most of us can recognize pointless brand clinging when we see it.
personally, i own sony car audio products. they sit under my bed.
btw alex, you can change your custom name now, mk&a are legal now
