A little problem I ran into after installing my new HU

Well I have a 2001 civic lx and I just installed an aftermarket cd player into it. It was working fine earlier but later at night when I turned the car on the cd player turned on but there wasnt any sound. And when I turned the car off (ya know how the ceiling light dims?) well the whole car just goes pitch black, even the powerlocks dont lock or unlock unless the car is turned on... Well can anybody with some kind, any kind of advice, or idea of what could be the problem, could please help me out? Thanx...

Very strange. It sounds like maybe you hooked up a wire wrong. Go back and double check the install. But then you say it worked before? Your battery might be going bad.

thanx i checked and it was the backup fuse and for some wierd reason when I loosened one of the 2 screws under the HU, the one in the center, it gave me back my sound, when I tightened it the sound went away. So I just removed that screw and now everything works perfect

you probly have a wire pinched in that spot where the metal frame that the radio screws to and the frame of the dash meet.
