I'm adding an amp and speakers. The only thing I haven't figured out is how I'm going to run the wires from the amp (under my passenger seat) to the door speakers and tweeters in the sail panels. The only hole I see has surrounding... do I just open that up or what?

I have a ghetto way to run the wire... which would be to just run it through the hole but just outside that black surrounding, but I don't know if that'll be safe from water. That's the only way I can see of doing it for now... I know people have done this install, so help me out.

You need silicone lubricant spray and a coathanger.

Tape the wire to the coathanger, and shove it through the grommet that the factory harness goes through, liberally spray with lube, and push it all the way through, but dont force too much otherwise you could tear one of the factory harness wires, which would be a bitch to fix.

See the black grommet inside the v the door makes when opening it? Run it through there. It's a biotch, but it'll fit. Like mystic said, just be careful not to rip, tear, break, etc the other wiring in there.

This is some good advice! Wish I'd seen it before I installed my speakers... Damn it would have been a lot easier with some silicone spray...

Why not just run the speaker wire back up to the headunit? That's what I did. Makes it so much easier that way, and I can control the balance F > R and L > R.

Because the factory wiring sucks for higher end speakers with an amplifier.

I actually have a new HU and when I put in my 4-ch amp, I just ran the wiring back up to the wiring harness that I used for the HU. Or, are you saying that the factory wiring in the wiring harnesses for the factory speakers are *****?
