Navigation system
whats the best priced navigation system to put into a Honda Pilot? I know the dealer has there own but my dad didnt get that option but he still wants one any ideas?
Pioneer seems to be best from my experience. You can get a package deal for like $1800 or $1500 on the AVIC-N1 all-in-1 system. Let me know what you and your dad wants first as there are many kinds of navigation system in the market. You can actually get a portable GPS unit for around $1000 or even less from other brands, but the Pioneer one I'm talking about plays as many things as you could think of. (DVD/VCD/CDR/CDRW/MP3/FM/AM (XM and TV channels with optional tuners).

he went to one place and they said like 4000 and the honda one i think is like 2000 so something below 2 grand is what hes looking for
$4000 is a rip off. If your dad is looking for a simple one try the McGallen (not sure if I spell it right) GPS system since it's portable. With Pioneer stuffs his Pilot is going to be a target to the thieves no matter if you take the face plate off. Funny thing is that they could buy a replacement faceplate from Pioneer and still get to use it lol~ Pioneer is touch screen plus voice activate navigation and the portable ones can't do it. I'd say go for the stock one even though it costs the same as Pioneer ones cuz
No one steals stock navigation system
Voice activate and Touch screen
Large screen
No worries about illegal DVD playing because it doesn't play DVDs
Under the factory warranty (If installed by Honda dealer)

any way your looking at labor costs but which one has cheaper labor probaly an audio shop right or am i wrong? its 2000 differnce on hondas site for one with it and one without it, but its also satalite linked is that a difference? and the pioneer is the same just a flip out screen is the only differnce, also the size of the screen i think on the pioneer would probaly be bigger cause you can get a 7 in and the one from honda looks small
Let's say if you got the Pioneer ones for $1800 from Ebay and bring them to the local stereo shop. Most shops charge you $200 for installing these and comes with lifetime warranty. Any shops charge you $500 or more is ripping off. They would tell you that the monitor and navigation are $1500 each and BS as much as they could to convince you to have them install for you. Both stock and aftermarket navigation systems are satalite linked, and there is not much difference between them. I'm not sure about the size of the screen on Pilot but I believe it's 7". The built in screen can be as large as 8" like the one on 2004 Acura TL, or can be as small as the ones from BMW&Benz. Their screens look like the 5" one from the PS One lol~ If you are asking for your dad's car, trust me go for OEM navigation system!=)
