500 dollars ?

i went to a autosound shop and they gave me a price of 500 dollars for 6 1/2 component and 6x9 alpine type r's installed.

is that a good price? or should i keep shopping?
are these speakers any good? i keep hearing people talking about them.

For $50-$100 more than that on ebay you could have *one* of the best speakers on the market right now. Thats decent for shop rates, but if you install yourself and buy online you'll get more for your money.

FYI: my speakers run for $499 at most shops, and can be had online for about $220. The step up (MB Quart QSD) is $1299 at most shops, and can be had online for $500-$600. Shop around, listen to different speakers, and decide that way. Remember, those $1300 speakers may sound amazing to me, but you might like a set of $150 Alpine speakers better, so don't listen to what other people tell you about a speaker, go listen to your ears.
