Just had my Alpine CDA-9833 Head Unit Installed. Looks great and the sound is incredible. The beautiful amber color matches the interior perfectly. One of the coolest features is that you can choose up to 512 different colors to match your vehicles interior! That's nuts. But besides the pretty colors and stuff, it sounds incredible...

I was at the local audio shop, and was playing with one of the Alpines they had set up. It looked like that one, dont remember what model number it was, but I liked the 2 line display, also with the XM, artist and title. Now that I have heard XM more and more, I have XM or Sirius envy. But the cash flow is low.

Heh heh... I wish it can go 240.
Everytime I'm in the States, someone notices it. They always go "Holy sh%& your car can go 240?". Yeah, were pretty fast and stupid drivers up here.
I still can't get over how well it blends in. The CDA-9835 was cool too, but I wasn't digging the black and white display, plus it didn't have that much more features that this one does.

bah, i hate when it doesn't go through when i reply, anyway for the second try...
I've got the cda-9831 and the colors are great. But it seems that only those four main buttons are the ones you can choose from 512 colors. The rest of the buttons, such as the 1-6 buttons, you can only choose from orange or green. is this how it is on yours too or do i just not know how to do it.

I set the 4 main buttons to setting 12. It seems to match the best.
Hope this helps.
Yeah the orange does seem to go well with the stock lights but i've changed my entire interior lights to blue leds. The green kinda goes with the inner circles on my gauges though so i've been sticking with that.
CDNSilver, on the flip side, the first time I cruised into Montreal I was like, sweet I can do 65!! Oops.
As far as the CDA-9833 and 9835 you say there aren't too many extra features, well right you are. How about none. The only difference between the HUs is the biolite display on the 35
they are both kick-*** HUs though. The Biolite is awesome in sunlight but the 33 does match interior better, so, much like Justin Timberlake, I guess you could go either way . . .
