Remote Turnon Wire

I am installing sub in my 2k4 vp using the speaker level inputs on my amp. My question is what do I do about the remote turn on lead?

it's gotta go from the amp...the remote terminal....all the way to the front of the car to the deck....there should be a blue wire with a white stripe....you want to splice it into there...then you will be good...

if u pull the deck its easier, pulling the deck aint hard or anything, but if u dont want to u can search for a blue/white wire located somewhere else on the car.

do like i did and run it to one of your fuses in your fuse panel. just strip the wire pull a fuse, stick the wire in and push the fuse in. all it is is a wire tellin your amo to turn on when your car is on and off when you turn it off.

i know another easy way, it is to go out and buy an on/off switch and mount it anywhere in your car, and have a positive lead running through it, the positive lead should then go to the amp's remote wire, this way when you turn on your car just turn on the amp that way with the on/off button, but the downside is that when u turn off your car dont forget to turn off the amp or else your battery will be drained.

ok under the dash there is a plug ( male )above the fuse panel i belive its a 3 prong accry not being used, this is what i use to use when i rigged up my first amp...take a test light and tap onto it with the key on, when the test light lights up then turn the key of...if the light goes off you have found your wire...take a female connector and plug it into that and run the wire back to the amp....and your done..the amp will now turn on and off with the key and you done have to worry about a dead batt in the morning

Some of these newer Civics and most other Hondas come with powered antennas in the rear pillars. If you civic has one, then factory installed head unit will have an antenna turn on. It's usually right beside the ignition input to the head unit in the harness.

Also if you happen to use an amp such as a MTX or JBL, you won't have to wire up a remote turn on. These amps are designed to be used with factory head units. Read your amps manuals carefully.
