buying a new amp

I Need an amp that will do 400 watts to both (2) 12" woofers RMS.
What am I looking for when I shop around?
my last amp was a free one, so I did not have to do any searching other than for the manual.

alex053 will become famous soon enough
is that at 4 ohm??

just shop for a name brand amp that will do 800 watts rms into whatever load your speakers present. Rockford Fosgate 801S would do the trick..check ebay.

yeah, any 700-900 watt amplifier that does power into 4 or 1 ohm.

class D amplifiers are usually 1 ohm stable. 2 channels that can be bridged are usually 4 ohm stable only, but will still work perfectly for you.

earthquake makes a 700 watt 2 channel amplifier, and a 1000 watt class D amplifier.

ARC makes a 4 ohm stable class D amplifier that does 900 rms.

take a look around, there are tons of amplifiers out there for you!
