iva-d900 + nav +rear seat screen question
ok..im thinking of hooking up the father in laws truck...all his other cars have had navigation but you cant get it in a toyota sequoia for some reason...he did get the dvd player and screen though..
my question is..can i get the d900 and the navigation and have a dvd playing on the rear screen with audio, and have navigaion on the in dash? will i be able to switch from navigation to watch the movie? basically, i want to be able to bypass the under the seat dvd player by using the 900's dvd player and add navigation?
or should i just surface mount an alpine monitor and just add a stand alone nav unit?

Oh yeah... I forgot.
The d900 comes with Multi-Zone Control
"Three A/V Inputs and two A/V outputs provide a wide range of source selection possibilities. The D900 allows independant source selection from each seat. Multi-Zone control is also possible via remote from the backseat"

No, in fact with the optional Alpine Headphones, the listener in back will never notice. I'm not sure if this effects your proposed situation, but the d900 also has audio interrupt. The only setting I can think of right now is the Nokia phone attachment where it mutes the audio and says something to the effect of "incoming call" on the screen w/ caller ID. Not sure if Nav. audio would do the same. To answer your question, yes you can multizone and not effect the screen in back, but I'm not sure about how the audio would effect it. I'd imagine that when you set video to rear, you can select an audio source as well. You wanna borrow my manual? It's only fair I've had your wire since birth.

Tha answer to your question is yes it will. You can set a destination on your nav and turn back to the radio, or movie, and the nav will interrupt and then switch back to your original source. I use it just like that all the time.
Its a celebration bitches!

YES.!!!! but i don't think you would be able to hear the movie when the front has the navi..., umm if there are ear phone jacks to the screens or in the back, you can probly still hear the dvd,
if you know how to wire them right....
