It's basically small pieces. If you ground 5 points, I'm guessing maybe 20feet total and you can cut it? Not sure exactly cause mine came as a kit.

Different people will tell you different things, I say you only need 2 grounds upgraded, and you can add the alternator wire (POWER, not ground) on top of that if you are running a large system.
I would replace the battery > chassis > block ground which would be 2 seperate wires, one from the battery to the chassis, and another from that same point on the chassis to the engine block. The other would be the strap from the frame to the bar above the radiator.
I don't really see why you would upgrade any other ones than that, as they most likely aren't a big part of the electrical system like the ones coming off the battery and engine block are.

I agree with your assesment megahurtz. Since I was just looking at the wiring today I can confirm this. The other wires (+ to fusebox, and - to fusebox) won't be carrying lots of current so they could stay as they are. Unless of course you want to power your amps off of your cigarette lighter. But if you do that your a very sick individual and will probably be in a padded cell soon anyway and away from your car.

Well I'm sure even if you did upgrade your batt - fusebox wiring to run amps off your cig lighter, your car will burn down anyway once you pass all those current through those nice 18 awg wires behind the dash

I did mine yesterday. I got 6 feet of 4 gauge power wire from a sterio shop and a bunch of 4 gauge ring terminals from a hardware store (I tend to be **** with the coupe so I also soldered the connections and used shrink tubing on the ends, its not a must).I replaced the neg batt. cable, the one in front of the radiator and added one from the tranny to the firewall. In all it took about an hour.I didn't notice any difference but the red wires look kinda cool.

The idea behind upgrading the wires is to have consistent power flow for a large stereo or other large electrical device. When you have 4 gauge running to your amp and 4 gauge running from your alternator to your battery, it only makes sense to have 4 gauge grounds to complment the power wires, make sense? If you have no system in your car and have all the stock wiring, there really is no point. If you have a pipe with water flowing to it and that pipe is not filled to capacity, then will upgrading to a larger size pipe change anything? No.

And as for size, use whatever size you use for your power wire for your amplifier or air bag compressors or whatever large wires you have running to the back of the car.
