I got a problem....
I just got my car back from being repaired from a couple accidents and my head unit cuts out every so often...lemme explain...
It happens more when I have the music up loud, but what will happen is the speakers cut out and the head unit keeps playing liek nothing happened. Only way to fix it is to turn off the head unit then turn it back on, and lower the volume.
I thought it was the HU so I went and bought another one, and this new one does the same so I know it isn't the HU.
I'm thinking maybe there is a short somewhere or maybe a back ground. Any ideas on if that would do it or where it may be?
I have a simple setup just the HU and the 4 speakers, nothing special Running a Pioneer HU with Pioneer speakers.
I have noticed my passanger 6.5" speaker kuz sounding staticy so I wonder if maybe when the door was removeed they spiced the wire, so I will be looking there tomorrow. Any feedback is welcome.

sounds like a fraied(sp) wire or one that is half broken. maybe it does that with the volume bc once its loud enough it rattles the loose wire and makes it cut in and out. also check the factory wireing harness, not the side that comes off the headunit. look inside and make sure inside the harness is tight. as far as i know thats all it could be. hope i helped

^^ I was gonna say the same thing, but I don't know if that would make sense seeing as the problem goes away when he turns the deck off and on

I haven't had the time to check anything....but like I said I bought a whole new deck and had to rewire it and everything looked ok as far as within the dash area...I'll prolly check again, I'm heading to my dad's tomorrow to take car of looking through everything. Hopefully I can find the problem I was just hoping I had a problem that others ahve had and know how to deal with right off. =)
My best guess is there is a short and the headunit kills the signal to all speakers to keep from frying itself and\or the speakers.
