Rear TV
Rear TV
Ever since i've had my car (got it used couple years back) there has been an empty hole in the roof behind the drivers seat close to the triangle window. I finally figured it was probably a coat hanger... maybe? could someone check me on that? Anyways, i was wondering around at radio shack and saw that they sell car monitors and dvd players... go figure. I was lookin at the monitor ($150), and the guy goes, "i can get you that for $100. Being as impulsive as i am, i bought it. dont ask why, i still dont know. Anyways, the bracket fits nearly perfectly in that small hole in the ceiling. the bracket that the monitor mounts on can move in almost any direction, and the tv is wonderfully viewable while laying down in the back seat. i still gotta run the wires (and i do already have an indash screen). I feel very proud of my discovery, although i'm probably not the first to do this on a civic. Just thought i'd share this with the world. questions? comments?
Well, finally got er all rigged up. i just took and put a screw through the center of the mounting bracket, and made sure the screw went all the way through into the screw hole for the coat hanger hook(i think?). Pretty nice. i LIkes it. Had to wait for someone today for a while, so i just layed down in my back seat with my pillow and watched sponge bob. sponge bob is awesome. As soon as i get my pioneer dvd player back, i'm going to run wires and put some headphone sockets in the rear deck. should work out pretty good since my HU has dual zone capabilites.

hey man thats freakin sweet. yea the hole if for the coat hanger. would do that but its filled with the clip. that is a really cool idea. u got that tv at radio shack? i didnt vene kno they sold car tv's. i put mine here (check member rides) its up on the roof and its sweet u can sit in the back or tilt the front seats all the way down and see it perfect...props on ur setup....
