Vacuum Gauge

hey guys, my friend gave me a 2 1/16 vacuum gauge but I dont know what is it for... I wanted to know if I can put it on my 2k1 coupe auto.

its used to track the suction on your shop vac while you clean out the floor mats

..... I might consider leaving it out if you dont know what it does. I dont know either, but it seems to me that it wouldnt be something important enough to track....

its used for monitoring the engine vacum. IMO it has very little use on todays computerized engines. Most if not all newer cars have whats called a map sensor ( manifold absolute pressure ) its measures the vacum of the engine and supplys a signal to the cars computer so it can adjust fuel and spark apporpriately. I suppose if you were running a real radical cam and huge injectors .......... and such you could use it to properly set up your fuel management system. But in most cases if your into tuning that much you will have the tools to be able to read the vacum via the cars computer. Hope that makes sense?
