tfna - watts has everything to do with amp draw, P=IV where P is power in watts, I is amperage in Amperes, and V is voltage in volts.... when the volts can only go up to about 12 the only way to increase the power is to increase the amp draw
So i guess class of amps has nothing to do with power draw? maybe im confused ? but im pretty sure ive seen similar amps put out x watts and 1 amp will draw y amps, and the other will draw z amps. Maybe you could explain?

i've seen amp efficiencies anywhere from around 50% for some a/b amps up to 90% for class t or d sub amps.

yeah I have a Class T amp that puts out 345 watts at 13.3 Volts with a 30 amp draw and It replaced a Class AB amp that put out 380 watts at 14.4 volts with a 40 amp draw.I noticed a huge difference especially with lights dimming and stuff and the fact that the amp never heats up really. compared to my AB amp that would literally burn you after 30min of high volume.

Those Plastic Blaupunkt class T amps rock!

Are you drawing 30 amps or is that the fuse? If you have a 30 amp fuse and you draw 30 or more amps then the fuse will blow.

Well thats not THAT efficient....my PPI is 500 watts rms at 4ohm, and it draws between 20-25 amps.

does it say in your spec sheets that it draws 20-25 amps? and what model do you have DCX 500.1 ?
