Amp Wiring Question
I know this may be a stupid question to some, but I believe there is no such thing as a stupid question. I have two 12” 4ohm subs and an amp that I want to run at 1ohm. The following picture is how it should be wired up, correct me if I am wrong. I know how to hook up the wires from one negative terminal to the other negative terminal on the same sub. What I can’t get straight in my head is how to split the wire running from the amp to the negative terminal of each sub (this would be the top wire line in the picture). I doubt that the wire is spliced but I just can’t figure it out.
Thanks

Looks aight to me, but check out this page, it will help you out as well:

Simply put you are connecting all the negatives together to the amp (-) and all the positives together to the amp (+).
You must have a pair of 4 ohm DVC subs for this to work as shown.
Most likely you will have two wires coming from the amp, one connected to each box terminal for each sub. So say two pieces of wire about 6 ft long. Then inside the box you will have 2 wires again per sub, one to each coil. So say 4 pieces total about 2 ft long (one wire for each coil).

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that only give you a 2ohm load unless you had dvc 4ohm like regularjoe said. To get a 1 ohm load with two 4ohm dvc you would need to add resistors in your set up I would think.

Actually when using 2 4ohm subs, to be able to run em at 1 ohm you have to make sure the amp has a built in flux capacitor. Then you can just route the power wire directly to it.
