Amp in a factory cd player (2k1 Civic EX).

i want to amp for a sub in my factory cd player in a 2001 civic ex. I plan on getting another cd player later, but i want to do some other mods before that but i want my sub to work also that i had in my old car.
thanks and would i need to do anything special.

you need a line output converter to connect to your speaker wires, then you can treat the factory cd player as an aftermarket, and just connect rca's from the amp to the rca inputs on the converter.

thats what I did in my old car, its not a bad way to go if your satisfied with your stock system and just want to add bass, plus i dont recall the converter being more than $20.. if that i dont really remember..

the install is simple aswell, when mine was done well it was when I had my permit and technically it was dad's car, but they just used the speaker wire for the 6x9s and spliced the converter with those and then rcas plug into it its all right there in the trunk..

Some amp manufactures provide speaker level inputs and have no need for converters

my amp came with this cable, which i did not use, i used the rca's instead that is a little plug with 4 small wires from it, could i use that and skip the converter or would i still need it? and where would i connect the REM wire for the amp at?
