Triggered Sound Button
Ok I need an electrical whiz. What I want to do is hook up a button in my car so that when I press it, a certain sound is played, nothing more nothing less.
I suppose some of the hurdles to face:
-how do I store the sound I want (probably a .wav or somethng like that)
-how do I access that sound
-how do I use the storage device to play the sound
oddly enough I kinda want this to be separate from my system so as not to play the sound over the speakers (at least not the ones already in the car) but over something else. I guess you can say I want a digital horn!
....... any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

funny you bring this up. about 6 months ago i was planning on drawing it up, patenting it, and selling it, but i got bored and changed my mind. A little box with a variable frequency ****, a wire in for sensing, and a set of rca outs. basically a bass burping button to hook up to alarms. youd need a motorola 555 chip set to work at x cycles (x being the frequency you want). and a hook up from a switch, an alarm, etc...
your OTHER option is MUCH easier, but MUCH more low-fi. Radio shack sells these little modules that keep a recorded sound and play them when some sensor is triggered. you could wire that somehow...
