stock speakers, alpine amp
obviously Im not gonna get crazy better sound but I was wondering...if I hook up my stock speakers (2001 civic ex) to my alpine mrv-540 amp (50 rms x4 @ 4ohms, Im pretty sure), how much better will they sound or will they just sound the same? I got them hooked up to a Pioneer deh-8500 headunit right now...Im in the process of building up my system, this is just a temporary thing that I was thinking of doing. but is it even worth it???
later...
I will upgrading all my speakers and adding two 10's to my alpine mdm500 amp...

Personally, I wouldn't do it. In fact I don't even think that your speakers will last with that much power running to them.
I just got a set of components and 2 channel amp and then saved up for an amp and sub a few months later. Now I just have to install the sub.
So you might as well just save your money and get what you really want faster.

stock speakers don't last long after very much use, you'd blow them pretty quick, heck they usually blow after a few yrs with just a stock radio. Paper woofers and whizzer cones aren't built for anything aftermarket hooked up.
Ive had over 100 watts going to my front speakers for a lil over a year and they sound great and only distort when i put my HU on max volume.Id rather spend my money on subs first then new speakers up front.
You should be OK as long as you utilize the crossovers at the amp. Set them relatively high for the speakers and make sure you are not pushing them into distortion. You should be fine for awhile like that, just don't expect good midbass from the doors! Good luck! Also, be sure the Loudness, FIE, and SLA settings are off or at a minimal setting, or you WILL have problems.
This is how I have mine setup.Gain set at about 1/16 of lowest point,Crossover set at 80hz,Low boost off,and sorry i had my wattage wrong its actually 200 watts to each front speaker because my amp is bridged. And I get decent mid bass. But that 200watts on speakers that are proboly meant for liek 30watts for over ayear =) they hold up pretty good.
