Need New Component Set??

Hey everyone, I currently have JL Audio XR Components running off of a HiFonics ZX6000. For those of you that remember me, I have blown through so many mids that I have lost count. Well, the other day, I blew one of my XR mids again, but this happened after I got the drivers side replaced when it blew last summer. Since then, I got my amplifier tuned by a professional and had my system working great for almost a year. I find it kind of weird that my drivers side XR Mid blew when it is the newest mid that I replaced and the fact that my passenger mid didn't blow is kind of weird. But anyways, for some reason now im thinking that it is my amplifier causing the problem, since my newest mid blew. A while ago, can't remember when, my hifonics amp started smoking because a transistor for one of the channels blew. After that though, the amp still worked fine and I didn't hear a difference in the music coming from my mids. Could that have something to do with my my mid blew, or am I just overpowering these speakers and thats the reason? By the way, my amp pushed 150W RMSx2. If thats the case and it is just me overpowering the speakers, then do you all know of a component set that can handle the 150W RMS x2?

I am just going to buy an Alpine T-420 and replace both of my mids and start out new. These XR mids can handle the power, except that I listen to them so much and so loud that over time they just can't keep taking it. The T-420 is 110W RMSx2 and I can tune it down as well, should be a perfect match.

if your amp wasn't fixed, one blown FET could totally throw off the internals of the amp. aside from bass blockers, maybe trying to seal up the mids a little more would prevent blowing them. could be the amp, but i think you may have the right idea ditching the speakers for a different set.
