A 12 V DC to 110 Volt AC inverter will work just fine.
60 Watts is the maximum spike peak...the ps2 will use less than 2 Amps
but you should get a minimum of 400 wats.

If you want a good picture you can't just get some cheap inverter. I install modded Xbox's in cars a lot and to solve your "static" problem on your screen you need to get a Pure Sine Wave Inverter. It should run you about $150 or so . . . search google for the PSWI.

that 60 watt inverter will work fine to power the ps2. Though, the price is a lil' steep on it. As far as hard-wiring it in. When I had mine, i extended the wiring and ran the pos side direct to my battery, and grounded the neg side to the frame. It worked fine for me. I would suggest, though, that you somehow wire it to a switched source. Not sure where you could find one large enough though. I had a problem forgetting to turn mine off and killing the battery. Another reason I took my tv's out of the car.

Im Running a 400 Watt Inverter with my PS2. Works Great. It also has another plug other than the one im using with the PS2... so i can plug something else in at the same time. It a coleman brand that i bought for about 25.00 at Target!
