HU install question

HU install question
Hey
I just got my Kenwood HU back from the repair shop and while it was gone, I decided to buy an install kit thinger for it (i had like a small custom one done.. but it wasn't of great quality). Now that I have it, I'm trying to use the kit, but that metal bracket thing that was used to keep the old/stock HU in (also the thing with that little flip-open compartment), isn't lining up with the HU's sleeve/harness. Now my question is, do I still need that metal brace/bracket (that held everything in place) with the new kit??

Rep Power: 305 nah dont need the metal braket....im not using the metal bracket....so that way if i wanna change my HU or whatever i can just do it w/o taking out the center console
