Speakers just blew

Well I just found out my sony 10inch subwoofer blew for some wierd reason. So i was goin to buy another 10 inch to replace it. And this shop said $120 for 10inch diamond subwoofer. Is that a good deal. Im not sure which kind or anything though.

Diamond makes nice stuff. I would take it over Sony anyday. I'd bet it would sound better than the Sony.

Sony car audio SUCKS!

after 3 years of serious bumping(750+ watts per speaker) my Hollywood Soundlabs Excursions 12's still sound AWESOME.

That sounds good, im not surprised the sony sub blew, sony does make crappy car audio stuff for sure. Diamond Audio makes some good stuff though. For $120 your probably going to be getting the low end 10", but it will probably still sound good, definately over your sony.

Yeah, 120 is definately a CM3 diamond sub, but it is still worth the money IMO.

that's a great deal. i had the cm3 10 inch diamond, ppl thought it was a 12, or two 10s. make sure u get a good amp for it, around 500W i think, i could be wrong. make it hit hard

150x1 RMS??? I don't think that will be enough for that diamond. You probably need at least 300 RMS. I might be wrong though.

diamond audio subs aren't that efficient, 150watts to a CM3 10" isn't going to work very well, 250watts RMS at the VERY LEAST, more like 300-400 watts.
a 10" CM3 for $120 is a good price, see if the shop will let you test it with your sub, or see what you can do about getting a bigger amp for it.
also, what else are your choices if you buy from that particular shop? are there other shops you would go to?
