where to put deadener?
where to put deadener?
i ordered a fatmat bulk pack(36sq feet), and i used about 1/3 of it for the trunk lid. where else should i put deadener? i was thinking of putting some on the sides of the trunk, and if i have enough, i'll put it on the trunk floor where the spare tire is... is this correct? is the trunk floor necessary, since it is already metal? how many layers is good for a 1000rmsW 12 inch sub? is it necessary to put more than one layer?
right now i'm just focusing on the trunk. if the bass is good when i deaden the trunk, is it a good idea to put deadeners on the car doors (or otherplaces)? i see some ppl dynamat their whole car, but i dunno if it makes a huge difference b/c it could be b/c they have good subs and amps

It makes a huge difference. Sound damping an entire car can make up to a 3-5dB gain. And it's not just because of the amps and subs, it's because of the sound damping. I would consider doing the rear deck as well if you're just looking to do it in the trunk. Otherwise, floor boards, firewall, everything...
