Need Help With Installing Pedals

I was at wal mart the other day getting deadener for my trunk and some floor mats to cover my Honda ones, and I came across these racing pedals. It was only $9.99, so I was like what the heck I'll try em out. Well I got home and tried it out, but it was all weird. The pedals have these bars on each of the corners that are supposedly suppose to go behind the stock pedal and u tighten from there. I dunno what theyre thinking, because the stock pedal is wayyyyy too big for the 2 mm of space to slip on. I was just gonna return them, but then I saw the same exact ones up on ebay, so I thought maybe they're all like this. Anyone have experience with this kind of pedal?

- Check out SoCalCivic's i think it is, his ride, he has Matrix Pedals like those on. For the brake pedal, just take off the little rubber thingy that goes over it. Just pull it off after you get a hold, you'll see what I mean. You can easily fit the brake pedal on after you take the rubber piece off. Still working on the gas pedal though... I think SoCalCivic figured a way to put it on, although its upside down. My 2 cents

IDQcivic should not be trusted
Hey that's where I got my pedals, the carbon fiber ones. I had problems getting them to fit tightly, I think I had to take the spring spacers off completely, and then just tighten it really good. I think I left the original rubber on so it had better friction so it didnt slip with the metal on rubber and it was a little thicker. The gas pedal used some kinda adhesive but I think its coming up a little....

haha matt representin the i.e. i love ya man. hey yeah i got some cheapo matrix pedals that fit on like yours.....it was a bit tricky but just use some imagination and they will fit. for brake pedal like he described depending on your pedals you might have to take off the rubber thing that comes on them as i did. with the gas pedal i took off the rubber backing, first tried using some long screws then were provided which worked but it was too loose for my liking. eventually after trying many things i ended up putting the gas pedal on upside down and it fit just fine, and for that matter works just fine. email me if you have any further questions....

IDQCivic I have the same pedals. They look sharp as hell. I too had to leave the rubber on the pedal to make them fit. Only problem I've had so far is the screws on the back need to be cut shorter because on my clutch they're starting to poke holes in the carpet. At first they didn't bother anything, but now I can feel it stick to the carpet on the floor. I'm just gonna snip off the extra length on the screws.

get ones that you can drill in, they are much safer imo. With the ones that have the bars, you need to worry about them comming off and that can cause a problem if you need to brake but the thing is all ****ed up. Drill em in or if you cant, you should make holes. Only way to go imo.

U can get the gas pedal to fit over, you just need to bend the bracket on the bracket on the back. Just play with it and smack it a couple times with a hammer in a vice, it should work.

i took the rubber parts off the clutch/brake...the pedals fit after that. i had to drill and screw into the gas pedal cause its plastic and doesnt come off to get the gas pedal on. pain in the *** that was.

Just an FYI, you can easily remove the gas pedal.

1. remove the end of throttle cable from the throttle body

2. remove the throttle cable from the gas pedal

3. remove the 2? nuts that hold in the gas pedal assembly

4. there is a roll pin that holds the plastic gsa pedal onto the pedal assembly

5. you can know easily use bolts and nuts to secure the pedal, then reverse procedure to install

why would anyone want to go through all that ^^^ just to put on a set of pedal covers??

im sure there would be a way to take the gas pedal off, i mean they put it in there somehow...but having to disassemble the whole throttle control just to get to the pedal is dumb. sorry...dont mean to jump down your throat, i know youre just trying to help...but i meant taking off the plastic part of the pedal, not the whole thing.

Took me less then 3 mins at most and that includes searching for the tools that are needed, tools = 10 or 12 mm socket i forget what one it was. It's just ALOT easier to mount it outside the car then under the dash
