damn UPS
not sure if this is the right forum, sorry if its supposed to go somewhere else. but anyway i shipped off my old subs, 2 12" eclipse titaniums in a sealed box and it broke in transit or wutever. and i cant collect the insurance money because UPS claim the damage was due to insufficient packing material.
i made the box it was shipped in cuz the ups store charges $80 to make a box. i took a shitload of pretty thick cardboard, and cut out sides, and made made the bottom and the sides double layer. it was all taped together with 4 of the big rolls of heavy duty packaging tape or wutever, and i stuffed the inside of the box with 3-4 weeks worth of newspaper, bubble wrap around the corners and down the sides, and then two fat bags of the foam peanuts.
wut i dont get is how it woutld break tho. even if the shipping box was shitty, the sub box is still pretty damn sturdy, im guessing its made of 3/4" mdf, and it weighed about 115-120 pounds. the only way i can think of it breaking is if they dropped it from 10 feet high in the air, or it fell out of the ****ing trunk, or someone took a sledgehammer and bashed the **** out of it. i havent seen the actual damage yet, but im probably gonna go later today if i have or tomorrow to bitch at the ups ppl.
ok, im done venting now. wut are some things i shud bring up to strengthen my argument against ups? first i think im gonna call the shop that made the box to see exactly how they constructed the box just so i know. i dont really have a lot of time tho because right now im stuck with family problems and stuck with freakn college apps. and now i didnt get the money for the subs, so i mite not even be able to pay for my freakin apps. thanks for listening and helpin out
