rockford headunits

How good are the rockford units? I was considering going with the RFX9220 with 3 5v outputs and everything, is this unit pretty decent?

I'm not sure if this is true, but I've heard Rockford heads are built by Delco (the people that build audio systems in most GM cars). If so, it's probably pretty solidly constructed. I've never been able to find one in a shop to listen to.

I've got a shop near me that has em', they seem alright, I'm probably still gonna go with the nakamichi deck I wanted, but this shop is run by people I know and trust with audio stuff and they strongly suggested I consider the rockford units, but I think I'm stuck on the nak's.

the old ones were built by delco. with the black faces and more ruberized buttons. the new ones are built by a company whos name you know not for stereos but another product.

as far as quality, they are unclipped at full volume meaning if you turn the volume all the way to 35 you get max voltage out and an undistorted signal to your amps. alot of other decks go to 35 but clip at 30. they have low impedance outputs so you can connect alot of amps, crossovers, eq's, ect without losing a ton of voltage. we did a test on the cheapest RF headunit and simulated hooking up 30 RF amps and the output signal dropped .1 volt. they also do the rated output voltage at 100hz. some makers will rate the output at 10k hz...who listens to that. so you could get 4V at 10k but at 100hz you get like 1.5. couple that with a high output impedance and the voltage will go even lower when hooked to an amp. its a great deck for the price that will do everything it says and do it all well. i would reccomend it.
