hey guys got a quick question that needs to be answered by today i have an 03 and i was gonna buy a head unit(mp3/cd all the goods) i heard someting tho about new cars having this thing where you cant take off the stock stereo because the cars computer runs off of it it uses theradio to send mesages thtoughout the car. So i guess im asking any 03 civic guysif they have an aftermarket stereo in their cars. If so i will buy one today and get crackin.

the oem headunit can be removed with no problem. what youre talking about only happened with the 98's i believe... youll be fine

That is correct.. I believe the 95-98s are the only civics that had that problem.. but the new ones.. well, the 7th generation ones can be swapped out with no problems.. have fun

seriously? thats interesting.. one of the most common mods and you couldnt even do it during those years to one of the most commonly modded car models ever, heh.
