head unit wire harness

hi guys, i'm sorta a newbie at all this radio stuff. ok heres my question, i want to put in a new head unit in my car, but have heard that i need to cut and splice two wires together from the radio's wire harness or else the keyless entry wont work. so does anyone know which two wires i need to splice together??? thanks, i tried searching but couldnt get a straight answer.

You dont need to splice anything. Thats for a 6thgen...7th gens are basically plug-and-play.

that's bullsh*t.......all u have to do is unplug the the harness from the factory radio and plug it into the new one.........it is so simple taking apart our dashes too. I love workin on these 7th gens.

Having what problem??? I put in my Hu, connect the wires from the HU wires, to the harness. Thats pretty much. You might have shorted out a fuse if the wires touched, and that might be why your keyless doesnt work. I did that, and thats what happned to mine. go under the hood and find the fuse panel, and change that fuse. Dont remember which one though. Thats why they tell you to disconnect a battery terminal when doing anything electrical.

most commonly blown overlooked one is one called "backup" thats under the hood
