Speaker Baffles?

Has anyone used speaker baffles before? .... Are they worth getting? .... also, i figured, since the foam baffles are between the metal panel and the speaker, does this stop some of the annoying vibration sound that is associated with the rear deck? .... idunno, just seems that 8 bucks for some baffles wouldnt hurt so much ... or am i wrong? LOL

they give your speakers a little more bass (kinda like sealing a sub, only a lot smaller and not a tight seal). they won't do anythign for the rattle, maybe make it worse if anything. but coat the back deck underneath with something soft (cloth, rubber [i used that stuff you put on shelves in the kitchen to prevent plates from sliding, and it came in so many neat colors ]) and make sure it goes to the glass, and that should nix the rattle.

foam. definitely convenient, as you can poke a small hole for wires, and you cna get a size too big and you dont have to worry abotu the window, its nice and soft and flexible. totally helps midbass significantly in our cars, ask hobbes abotu that one, i put in his earthquake 5's with those foam baffles, worked great.

i highly reccommend them for door speakers

excellent .... i think this will be my next weekend project ...... now, as for the rear speakers ....... will the fact that the foam is now separating the speaker and the rear metal panel, will this help dampen the vibration a bit? and will it improve sound quality as well?

I have 6.5" foam baffles in my doors and they do work awesome. Definatly helps out the midbass. Also it will help your rear speakers if you have subs because the pressure coming from your subs wont be directly on the backside of the rear speaker cones. So not only will you have better midbass but you'll have almost no distortion on your rear speakers caused by your subs.

its to improve midbass response. the idea is to restrict the back wave a bit more, kinda like the difference from playing a subwoofer jsut sitting on your floor versus putting it in a box.

this isnt a box, and far from perfect, but it does restrict the air wave a bit, so it helps.

i dunno abotu stuffing it, ive never heard of anyone doing it, try and see! who knows, maybe itll help

i stuffed my door with polyfill. seemed to hep some. cut down on air, thus making a smaller free air setup.

the speakers i am getting are 2 1/4"!

I have baffles for my XR mids. I didn't necessarily get them for better midbass, rather to keep water off of my mids. My doors leak alot from the seals around the window when it rains and I don't want water to screw up my expensive mids.
