wire to speakers in the doors
wire to speakers in the doors
This is about my Ford Ranger .....
On my Civic the black rubber gasket from the body to the door was a good size. When I put in my Diamond's I ran new wire in there from my amp directly to the speakers.
For my Ranger the gaskets are much much smaller. Slightly oval shaped about the size of a carpenters pencil.
My question is can I run wires from my amps to behind the dash, then connect into the speaker wires from there. This will allow me to get away with not running new wires through the gasket. I think that will be quite a difficult task.
About how much power do you think those wires will handle? If I do have to run new wire whats the minimum I could get away with?
Current plan.....
Front Door: JL XR Coax's off an Alpine T220 (~ 90 watts per speaker)
Rear Door: JL 8W3's off an alpine M350 (~ 300 watts per sub)
Thanks guys ......

Well the correct way to do it is the way you did it in your civic run wires directly to your speaker. If you cant get it in through the factory groumet in the door then drill your own hole, run your speaker wire, cover it with some split loom and seal the holes with silicon. You can also run to the speaker wires to the factory radio location which is the easiest way but you may get some signal drop and may not get the full potential out of your system.
