JL XR's vs Alpine Type-R's

I am debating between these for 5x7 coax's. The shop that has both has a dead sound board of course.

The Type-Rs highlight is a silk tweeter while the JLs boast of a offboard crossover.

Any thoughts on the two?

its no contest, the xr's win by far

alpine type r is a mid grade generic component set, nothing really sets it apart from the rest..

the jl xr component set is by far one of the smoothest component sets out there... xr's are not quite made for you if you like super harsh super tweeter heavy components...
