not your everyday alarm question...opinions needed

i currently have a python alarm, its pretty decent because when someone taps my car or anything it'll go off, but lately i've been thinking about getting the alarm with the 2 way page system like the compustar one...i was wondering do you guys think i should spend all that money and get another alarm system. And if i do get the new alarm what can i do with the old one? can i sell it or anything like that? thanks

i personally dont like pagers just because theyll have you running back and forth to your car on false alarms. personally, i think a properly installed alarm with a self powered siren or soemthing to that sort will work just as good in deterring the thief.

remember the universal rule: if they want it, theyll get it.

i can shut off any alarm on this forum quick.... really really quick..

I don't like pager alarms either. It's a good idea but not worth the money. By the time you get the page and get back to your car, whoever set off your alarm with more than likely be gone. What you have right now will be fine. Nobody ever does anything when they hear a car alarm going off but it does draw attention to your car when it does go off and that's the point.

Unless you have a really simple car alarm, uninstalling it will be a huge pain and I doubt there is a market out there for used car alarms. So I say just stick with what you got, you'll be fine.

i think you have your shock sensors set too sensitive personally, i set mine where it takes more than a bump to set it off... thats just me though... it used to go off at night cause of cats jumping on my car (till i got animal control to catch the bastages) and i'd roll over and re-arm it... then i got to thinking that if something really did happen i'd just reset it and all my stuff would get stolen... as for pagers, i dont like them because they give you false security... a good theif will have all your stuff in 2 minutes, you'd race out to your car only to be dissappointed... get a really loud piezo tweeter horn, whatever its called to emit a high pitched wail when your alarm goes off, making it unbearable to sit in the car... just my opinion
