My friend got a 15" sub (Kicker comp VR) and was going to bridge his 4-ch amp into the sub for its power, but because its 4 Ohm DVC it can only be wired to single 2 and 8 ohm loads.. and I don't think bridging into 2 Ohms is safe for the amp (Crunch 4175). So is it possible to bridge both channels into both VC's and power it like that? If not, how should he wire it?
Thanks.
Thanks.
The amp should have 4 speaker outputs and the sub should have 2 voice coils.
Two for channel #1 and two for channel #2.
Take the two outputs for channel #1 and bridge them. Wire this to one of the coils on the speaker.
Take the two outputs for channel #2 and bridge them. Wire this to the other coil on the speaker.
