The Best In Car Visual Audio
Well my crappy Kenwood 8017 MP3 player finally died only after about 2 years. But only worked properly for about 9 months. I will never buy kenwood again. But anyways I need a new head unit now. I really want to get one that will play all the formats, MP3, WMA, CD, CDR, DVD, DVDR, DVD Audio. But I also want a good quality device that will last for a long time. I also want the brightest clearest picture is that too much to ask? Well I've always liked pioneer head units but I dont know if they make the best displays, Ive been told Eclipse made the best displays. I found The Pioneer AVH-P7500DVD which looks to fulfill my desires. But I wanted to hear everyone elses thoughts. I know the retail says 2700 but ive seen it on ebay for around 1500. I like the 7" screen I think the idea of playing the media with the display closed and still function like a regular head unit is important. If anyone knows much about these please give me some info I really appreciate it!

I have the 6500 right now, and although the picture quality is top notch, the brightness of the screen is not as much as I would have expected. Maybe it's because it's now a touch screen, but it's still plenty bright in all situations except excessive sunlight.
The 7500 has a slightly larger screen, and it MAY be brighter, but I have yet to compare them to be sure of that. They ARE excellent head units, though. . . they do just about everything, and play pretty much every format of media you can think of.
I say go for it. . . Pioneer's got some nice stuff out, right now.

Alpine IVA-D900, does every format, has inputs for anything you could ever imagine connecting in your car AND has the best screen on any in dash monitor on the market. Your average screen has about 300k pixels (little dots of light that make up the image on the screen), the IVA has 1.15 million. In addition Alpine's R&D facilities are second to none. If you want something that will last you and has all the features you're looking for the IVA is the one for you.

clarion products are pretty good too, their new dvd/tv/cd/mp3 hu is great, alpine makes good products and they have clear pictures, but i don't think that their motorized in-dash screens, to my knowledge have a built in cd/dvd playback feature...

I have the Eclipse AV8022 and is by far the best screen that i have owned. It is an 8 volt deck with a built in 8 band EQ. Tilts in 5 positions and turns to the left or right. Dolby Digital with a 6.5 inch motorized screen. Pricey, but well worth it.

It appears the pioneer has more features. I wish I could go somwhere and compare them side by side
