Wow, I was about to ask a question about fiberglass. First I know that many home improvment places have fiberglass stuff, either that or a boat place definitly would. My question is to make a custom enclosure, could i do this:
Take foam board, cut stack it to apx what I want the shape to be, begin to put the fleece and resin on it. Once I get it to harden, flip it over, mount some wood on the inside for support. Sand, Sand, Sand, sleep, and another 4 hours of sanding to smooth it. Paint it, then mount the woofer. Tell me what you think as i have no fiberglass experience, but this sounds like something that might work. Only thing i'm scared about is that my subs will be too heavy for the fiberglass and either sag, crack or just break it when in operation.

lowes, home depot, wal mart, local car place (pep boys, auto zone, advance etc...) carry the mat and resin and all that... as for a DIY, search for some stff from ludlam or white rabbit, they have posted many DIY's dealing with glassing...

the best fiberglass resin products i have found have been at www.tapplastics.com
your weave, roving, or matting can be found stupid cheap on ebay.
as to a diy, what materials you use, how you use them, and all that fun stuff is very dependant on what youre building.
Remember that most installs that involve glassing also use bondo for smoothness, and sometimes expanding foam to make those fun shapes.
if you guys have any ideas on any specific installs, i can point you in the right direction and tell you how I would do it.
There is no 1 way to build something. I may do something one way, the next guy will do it a diff way.

thats just a wood box with a t-shirt wrapped around it. the t-shirt is then soaked in resin and allowed to harden.
remember that most boxes that look all fancy and fiberglass are really just woodne boxes with pretty covers
