Wiring up an On/Off LED?

Ok I had a toggle switch installed that activates my aftermarket fog lights and I was wondering if I could somehow wire in a simple red alarm LED to indicate when the fog's are on/off since mine come on whether or not the headlights are on. Do I just tap the LED'
s pos/neg wires into the switches or what??

Rep Power: 0 after the toggle switch splice the wire and put in a 1k ohm resistor ran in parallel with your fogs, then run put an led in series connected to ground after the resistor
12v----V-----fogs

...........|---resistor--led--ground
the v is the switch

You could replace the toggle switch with a toggle that lights up, that might be another option you could look at. Im supprised your fog lights did not come with that kind of toggle switch.

Rep Power: 0 well it should have come with the switch, but after getting them installed, the guys that did them told me the switch it was supposed to come with was missing.
