amp wiring kit
i'm new here. does anyone know what kinda amp wiring kit that i need to get for my amp? i jus bought a Rockford Fosgate Punch 801s but i do not know which wiring kit i have to buy. the seller recommended a 4-gauge wiring kit wit a 60-amp fuse but other sellers selling the exact same amp recommended an 8-gauge wiring kit wit a 60-amp fuse. what's the difference? which one do i have to buy for better quality? one more thing....i've seen some Rockford Fosgate 4-gauge wiring kits but they have a 50-amp fuse. will that be alright for my amp? can anyone also tell me if i should jus buy any wiring kit on ebay or go wit the brand that made my amp?

buy any amp wiring kit, unless you care about the name of it. for subs, there is no significant gain made by paying more for a name brand amp kit. sounds dumb, but walmart has about the cheapest amp kits, and they work just as well as the overpriced branded ones. you will definitely want 4 gauge wire for your amp, thats a pretty good sized amp and 8 gauge won't really cut it. as for fuse, get whatever the kit comes with, if you blow it with loud music than just get a bigger one. 50 might be a bit small, 60 or 80 should be fine.

RF makes a nice kit. Very nice connectors. I seen the Walmart brand before its called RoadGear, looks cheap as hell, the rca wire are chezzy as F@#$. It all depends on what YOU want. I believe the 801s uses a 80 amp fuse. What ever size fuse the amp has, run the same under the hood. (im assuming you are using 1 amp)
Stinger is a brand that offers nice connectors/fuses/wires at a decent price.

RF is great, I use it, def run 4AWG. Monster Cable is also pretty nice. Either way, 4AWG, and a capacitor will help out as well.

cable is cable, wire is wire, its all made out of metal. for your power and ground wire i'd use the walmart 4 gauge. for rca's you dont have to spend all that much, but at least get some shielded ones
