I had a JVC el kameleon and couldn't read a word it said when the sun was out. . . I just got a Pioneer Premier cuz' i wanted an Mp3 player. I dunno what you can do besides squint your eyes and get 6 inches away
It's a very common issue, I believe. It's due to the angle of our dashes, along with the fact that there's no "overhang" to shield the deck from the glare.
I had to return my first Pioneer deck because I could not read it, either -- it had the regular LCD display. I have been much happier with my replacement deck, the Pioneer 6400 (now the 6500); it has the organic display, and it makes a huge difference.

Unless of course it looks that much better, but I would still tint the windows.

If ya got the money to spend.....I just put in my Alpine IVA-D900 LCD screen. Not only is glare no longer an issue, but I can choose what angle to set it at! Aghhh...take that Honda engineers! I overcame your flaw at a mere cost of $1700.
