Q on wiring new subs
I'm redoing my system and I have everything hooked up except for the subs and I'm not sure how I should wire them. . . here's the specs on them.
AW1251T
12” NATURAL SOUND WOOFER
45 oz. Strontium Magnet
Power Handling: 400 watts R.M.S.
Frequency Response: 24Hz - 1kHz
Efficiency: 92.1 dB
PHAT Foam Surround
Non- Pressed, Non-Transfer Paper Cone
KM3’ Coated for Virtually No Cone Distortion
2” 4-Layer ASV Voice Coil
Dual 4 Ohm
2 Ohm or 8 Ohm Operation
Mounting Dimensions: Depth; 5 1/4” Hole; 10 7/8” Diameter; 12 1/2”
Lug Lock Terminals
The amp I have is a rockford fosgate 700s. Any suggestions as to how I should wire them?

OK, don't bother responding. . . I wired them bridged in parallel @ 4 Ohms and each sub is getting 700 watts. I was listening to my stereo at 40 volume earlier today and I put the subs at -3 setting and blew out my fuses at 10 volume. 1400 watts is rediculous !!!
im betting you blew out yoru fuses becuase you wired it parrallel at 1 ohm, not 4 ohm. is that amplifier 1 ohm stable? ill bet that its not!
youd wire it in series-parrallel for a 4 ohm load, which that amplifier could definitely handle! each subwoofer would be wired in series for an 8 ohm load, then across the woofers parrallel , wdropping the total load to 4 ohms, which, as far as i knew for that amplifier, was the minimum load it could hand bridged? am i wrong?
however, it would make perfect sense if you wired it to one ohm rather than 4 ohm, due to blowing the fuse at such a low volume level!

I blew the fuse cuz' i was still using a 30 amp fuse on the distribution block. I upgraded it to 50 and was playing it at 30 today. I know what i'm doing fella's I'm an engineering student so I'm no dummy.
And yes white rabbit I did wire it at a 4 Ohm load, but thanx for the advice on blowing the fuse.

Sorry ....I just assumed the worst ....
Its just amazing at times though what people do. I try to help friends out but some never listen. Then with a boom things get smoked and they wonder why.
Most times its like that comedian used to say .... here's you sign.

BTW joe, that is an awesome amp rack you build. When I have time I might start to design something like that on my own. . . have the amps overheated or given you any problems with that cover over them? Do you have a fan set up on it? Any suggestions b4 I start on mine? And what material did you use? Thanx
