Exclamation Rear 6x9's won't fit

2001 civic coupe, want to install 2 6x9 Infinities, but those stupid bars in the trunk that "keep it open" are in the way because the magnets are too deep. I got a decent set of Pioneers, but they blew last week. to install 6x9's with deep magnets, can I take those bars out? Will my truck stay open? I don't think I'd be able to pop it from inside though. if thats the case, so be it. Any feedback on this would be great. I want a really good set that can handle decent volumes and base. but if the magnets are too big I fear they won't fit. HELP!

Thanks

Do a search for trunk shocks I think. People have put those in with, what I assume, a good deal of success. Grey made a good DIY for them. Which Inifinity 6x9's do you have. I have the green 2-ways, and just just barely fit, but they did. You only other optition would be to look at some different kind of speakers.

I don't have the speakers as of yet, but I can't remeber which ones I want. I actually saw Grey's DIY page, I'll look into the trunk shocks. thanks.

Same here, my stupid Infinity's wouldn't fit so I just got 3way Rockford's for the rear, they sound hella good.

Rockfords were my next choice. I'll probably go for those. Seeing as hows I don't really want to fork out the extra cash for trunk shocks (I'm cheap how many watts are they?

I put in Kappa 3ways and ripped the trunk bars out! Don't need no stinkin trunk. I'm gonna weld it before I paint anyways.

if you rip'em out keep 1 because they're the perfect height to prop the lid open!

Parts you'll need for the trunk shock conversion.: (ordered from McMaster.com)

9512K73 - You'll need 4 of these. They're little ball studs.
9416K16 - You'll need 2 of these. The gas shocks. Select 40 for the force*. This is in pounds.

i had infinity kappa 2 way 6x9's. they didnt "technically" fit, but i just warped the torsion bars by screwing down the woofer anyways. the magnet had a ruber boot on it, so it didnt make any noise, and the trunk opened up just fine.

Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it, but I'm going to go with 2 10 or 12" subs, (as soon as I save up some coin) My pioneers are fine, they give nice sound. imp:
