Factory Headunit Removal
Factory Headunit Removal
Yeah... so i know there are a few posts on this but i was wonderning if anyone knows how to remove the 02 civic factory headunit. I have searched around on the net but cannot find anything too specific. I heard there were 2 screws you had to undo to take it out... how do you get the trim off. I know this is a stupid question but i really wanna do this myself. Thanks for your help

its not a stupid question at all, i hate pulling off that lower trim piece of the 02 civic, its really hard!
theres no real easy way to do it, actually, you just have to kinda find a way to grip it then yank hard. no slow pressure, if you can shock it loose thats best.
if you can, try snaking a finger around the bottom corner and see if you cna feel for the metal clip on the lowest lowest corners, and push those up from the back. if you cna pop out the lower cornesr, its a whole lot easier to get a grip on teh front and do teh rest of teh panel

its easy..i have done it like 40 times. use a pic tool or small flathead screwdriver to pop off that panel where the cig lighter outlet is at. Look under there...there are two silver screws....use either a phillips head screwdriver or an 8mm. then reach behind where you just unscrewed those bolts from and push on the metal frame. This will pop the entire dash piece out, vents and all. Unplug the radio, the hazard switch, the AC dials, and then 3 switches at the bottom of the piece and its out.
