System Install = SRS Light "ON"?
System Install = SRS Light "ON"?
O.k. I've installed dozens of systems in lot's of cars including my last 5 Hondas. Got this new 03 Si for the wife and decided to hook it up. Install consisted of the following:
Alpine 9811 Head Unit (Requires Battery Connected Power)
Sony Amp
Infinity 12" Reference in a Bandpass Enclosure
Everything went great..Sounds great! Had the Center Console Out, Back Seats Out, Front Passenger Out.
Ran 4 guage power fused for 60amps which is proper for this amp and head unit on one line. Distribution of 8 guage 1 to amp & 1 to receiver.
Got good ground in the wheel well area.
Now the $10,000 question is WHY THE HELL IS THE SRS LIGHT ON
Any tricks or experiences with this?
Thanks in advance

Well, all 2001 and above Civic's have a connection on the factory seats that goes to the SRS Airbag system. If you disconnect any of the SRS connectors in the vehicle and turn the power to the vehicle ON the light comes on letting you know that you have or had an open SRS circuit, you can reset it though! there is a DIY on this website all you have to do is search!

One More Thing......
If i read the replies right: Whenever I have a SRS connection broken make sure I don't turn the ignition. Pretty much leave the battery disconnected if dealing with SRS.
Just a little preventitive type question. Hate to make the same mistake twice..people should be punished for that!
Thanks Again SR Members!

Yeah, it will only come on if you have the seatbelt plugs or airbag plugs disconnected and you turn the car on. Takes a meere 15 seconds to fix though, not a big deal. I used a paperclip to do mine.

Thank you so much everyone for the DIY to reset th SRS light. Mine came on for no reason and I wasn't about to go to the dealer. Took me three times too, but the paperclip worked fine. Thank you so much you are all great!
