Question Question

I have a 900watt Rockford Amp, its mono and i bought two 12" 400watt rockford subs. I was wondering if could still power the two subs with that mono amp? Thanks alot, i'm a newb at this audio stuff :|

mono amps are for subs, if thats what you mean.

if you think the amp might blow the speakers, then a big don't worry about it. you have something on the amp called GAIN that can be used to adjust the power output (lower the volume).

oh alright, thank you... ya I was kind've wondering if my mono amp can still power two subs? would i have to split the wires or something to connect it up to the two subwoofers?

no splitting wires. if they only have one voice coil (one + and one - terminal on each subwoofer) and they are 4 ohm coils (probably says on the magnet, or else look it up), then you would simply wire each of the +'s on the sub to the + on the amp, same for the -'s. this is called parallel wiring. do a search for wiring subs, and there are more than enough hints there if this doesn't make sense.

a mono amp could power 16 subs. or more. the amp has no eyes to see what it is connected to.
