I was thinking of getting an lcd screen but I don't really wanna spend that much i got about 800$ CAD to spend I was checking this lcd out just wanted some input, also should i get an lower model lcd or a top of the line headunit?

in real life the unit looks really drab, but the quality is clarion entrylevel. so its not bad at all, it cant compete with clarions top line or pioneers top line, or even touch alpines top lines, but its a mile ahead of all the other boss and lanzar models out there.

motorized is kind half true. it only pops out, you have ot tilt it up by hand. thats the mechanism for retracting it too, itll pop back in the dash when you fold it all the way down.

the only other issue i cna think of is the fact that it sticks out a mile from the dash, retracted.

but as far as screen quality, i think you will be very satisfied, and although the price is 4 times what you cna get the same clarion stand alone screen for, the stand alone screens dont retract into a din sized unit or come with an am/fm tuner.

its a solid unit, bottom line.

i just noticed that its a new model year. so it might flip up all teh way and might be higher quality.

also i just noticed its widescreen. this is KEY in the auto entertainment market. if you have a 7 inch standard screen, watching a movie is no better than having a 5 inch widescreen. so you cna see why something liek an icon 9" widescreen can become so popular so fast!

so the fact that its widescreen is REALLY key, especially if you plan on adding a dvd player (like a ps2) as the video source.
