What type of gauge are you talking about? I have a 2002 DX also and I replaced my cluster with an LX so that I could have the tach. If that's what you're doing there's a DIY on how to install indiglo gauges that tells you how to take that part out. Its relatively simple and should only take about 10-15 min.
