Question Is fiberglass really that bad???

Is it?? i mean its up to $400 or $500 bucks cheaper and when you have to get everything painted and put on which is gonna cost $1000 to do it right whats the big deal? i know urethane is better b/c it stands up to roadkill and rocks better. just looking for opinions. i am tite with my money so if something will save me $500 i am a happy man. PEACE!

Itll save you money short term but when you have to repaint that bumper becasue you got spider webs because of a rock or you got to replace the FG bumper that saved you money a few months back youll be saying the same thing. FG sucks. If your car is a carpet queen or maybe even a weekend driver then go for it but if its a daily driver i wouldnt.

FG is very inexpensive, but like RedDragon333 said, look for repairs. FG is easier to repair than urethane. Look for repairing FG every now and then if daily driver.

FG v's urethane is like comparing a Pinto with a modern Civic. Sure the pinto is cheaper and will get you places but it will also break down, or explodes on you, will end up paying a lot more.

another question...do those who have FG kits, do you have a lot of problems? do you wish that you would have gotten urethene instead?

Yeah...I agree with RedDragon333...Go urethayne. I was gonna go with FG because I really liked the kit, but after further investigating the pros and cons having FG towards Urethayne...I'm gonna go Urethayne...Especially for us H-Towne peeps...our roads suck!

OH GOD OUR ROADS SUCK!!! I'm still debating about buying the S-OT front seeing its 6 layered FG. I really don't want to have that many problems with it. Man, I wish our roads were better.

It is just how you use your car. if daily driver, consider road conditions. if just show, FG is no problem. I do not have a body kit, but friends in the club have FG kits. With the way New Orleans roads are, many people still use FG kits. You need to research and shop for greater grades of FG or go urethane. Take your time and do it right the first time.
