OEM Honda body kit... material?
Yeah if I were you, I'd save up for the swap, it would be worth it in the long run, since your heart is set on the swap right? Then you will probably be getting it some time, and then your turbo is no good. I would just wait it out, then you would notice, and appreciate the power even more, just my thoughts
Yah, I'll do that. And yes, my heart is set on the swap (90% swap / 10% turbo... hehe.). Now I need to find a place that can do this kind of swap. I'm not sure there's a place like that here in Hawaii... maybe. Hopefully I find a place that knows Honda/Acura engines in and out.

RedDragon, youuu lucky BASTARD! I don't think my dealership would do crap for me. Especially if it deals with swapping engines. But who knows. I mean, I didn't ask yet.
I'm still torn between the turbo and the swap guys. I mean, I'd like the turbo for now... to do a little killing of ricers. Hehe! I figure I can do the swap when I have piled on the mileage significantly. Do you think the engine will be available by that time? Say, within 3-4 years? I'd like to wait and save for the swap, but I just can't turn down a turbo. Haha! What do you think guys?

Good thinking RedDragon! I think I'm going to do the same. I'm thinking of doing the swap sometime after my warranty expires. I guess once I get my rims, maybe I'll just get the basic I/H/E setup... maybe.
hi, guys,
I am glad my idea of 1.7EL helped you.
I think you definitely better do the engine swap...
a turbo charger can be describe as a separate unit that use the pressure of exhaust to turn a turbine. I don't know what kind of turbo charger you will get, but idially it should have it own clloing system so that when it extract the air with turbine it also cool it.
Turbo is a forced induce system, it forces more compressed air in the engine cylinder. More air mixed with gaz=bigger explosion. However, you still have 16 valves right? 4 on each cylinder, 2 let air in the cylinder and 2 let exhaust out of cylinder. If the valves number stays the same then the big amount of induced air won't necessarily go into the cylinder...so I the 50HP they claimed won't be totally true.
however, if you get an engine swap, a 2.5L for exemple, no doubt you get more power right there.
I hope my suggestion will be useful~

I'm not sure about that, I know that a swap with the K20A and it's transmission is fairly straight forward if your Civic is already a manual, because the clutch pedal is already there, and all the linkages. But since you have an auto, that may pose a problem, or it may not, it's hard to say really what's involved. I'm not even sure if you can, or would want to, use the auto tranny on the K20A, I doubt that would work, but it would be a lot harder if you have an auto instead of a manual I would think.
I was thinking it would be hard to. If I do the swap, I'd want to swap the transmission too. I'd love to have a manual.
I guess if I do swap the transmission too, I'd have to swap parts from a manual civic as well? Seems a lot more difficult. Also sounds like more $$$ would be involved. Man, the turbo is sounding really good now... hehe.

Yeah, it would be a lot more work converting to a manual from an automatic, versus just swapping a manual for a manual, since all the linkages, and especially the clutch pedal would already be there. I'm sure it's possible to do what you want, it's just harder, and would cost more, since you would have to cut through the firewall to install the clutch pedal, then change the interior housing and buy the manual housing, like the shift boot, etc... it's just a lot more work. Having said that, you might be able to use the automatic tranny with the K20A, I'm not expert in this department, but chances are the ECU wouldn't like that too much.
