Upper Grill Problems
Upper Grill Problems
I bought the plain plastic mesh style upper grill. Well i took the onld one, with the H out, and compared the 2 sizes. They looked about the same size but when i put the new one in there is a gap at the top between the hood and the upper grill now. I realized that the reason for this gap is the fact that the OEM grill only has the slat going across the middle. Therefore has a gap at the bottom and a gap at the top. Its like the manufacturer of the grill i bought didnt take this into consideration. Is there anyone that has this style grill that has it fit correctly. OR anyone else have this problem.

I'm not sure I understand what you are talking about. Post a picture to help.
But anyways, are you talking about where the Radiator cover used to be? You need to get a sedan radaitor cover if you want one to attach to your altezza grill.

well i think he might be talking about when you step back to look at the front end, there is a gap between the top of the grill and where the hood closes. there isnt really a gap, just looks that way becasue the altezza/type r style grill that he has is recesed and the top of the oem grill sits right in line with the hood. the altezza grill sits about 1/2 inch-1 inch back on the top so there is the appearance that there is a gap.
check out the members rides. anyone that has that type of grill has the gap. i have one to.

Also, there is a "gap" because that black pastic piece that covers the radiator does not fit without modfication with those new grills. It looks fine to me.

the aftermarket grill on my sedan doesn't have any gap around... you guys with coupes can buy a sedan radiator cover and put it in between the grill and the radiator (the coupe's doesn't fit)
