Suggestion on 1st Few Mods....
Suggestion on 1st Few Mods....
Hey Everyone,
I know everyone is gonna say do some searches but I've done my research and I'm about to buy my first few mods for my '01 Civic EX (Sedan).
I'm gonna definitely buy the following:
1. AEM SRI
2. DCS Short Shift Adapter
I don't really want to change the look of car too much...maybe subtle and simple changes. What other mods can I make for say under $300. If I get a exhaust I want it to sound like my stock exhaust but maybe improve performance a little.
Any suggestions?
JB

your heading in the right direction, u would suggest nice rims, a nice kit, maybe projector lights or just clear them, on a 4door, dont get alteezas, they dont look too good. but thats about all u can do, intake exaust lower the car, strut bars sway bars. if u have the cash maybe a turbo or noz

Why are you getting a SRI? Cold air intake would be better for your car. And why are you getting the DC adapter? Get the real thing. The REVO SS is a complete short shifter not that crappy DC imitation piece.

As far as Revo SS, haven't really heard of it or read to much on it. Where can I get it? How much! I need more info. (and yes, I know I'll do some searches myself)
Sound's like you're not going for the all out "show" look. How bout redecorating your interior? Painting the parts on the dash and door panels always spiffy up the ride. Maybe get a factory wing if you already don't have one.

Rochester eh? which part? I was born there and some of my family still lives there.
Parts. Get the Revo, it's a much better system. costs about $100.
Short ram will do fine, but check out the K&N FIPK setup, apparently you get a bit more gain out of it then other short rams.
other then that, your on your own. Find your priorities then get the parts. If your in to Autocross like me youll end up spending more time on Suspension rather then engine.

You can find the REVO for around $90.
I live in Charleston, SC.......whenever it rains the streets flood here. That is why I have the bypass valve on my CAI.

What you do really depends on what you want out of your car...
If you want looks, get wheels/tires and tint.
If you want performance, at least get sticky tires.
If you want to autox or open track, get sticky tires, brake pads, new brake fluid (ATE Super Blue or Gold is good).
If you want sound, get CAI, header & exhaust.
If you want to waste your money, get some altezza rips and a wing.

Here's what I did in order from first to last:
Tinted windows
Wheels and tires
front strut bar
altezza grill
shifter bushings
exhaust
anti-roll bar
intake
If I could only pick three things it would be wheels/tires, intake and tint... but I'm still happy with all the mods I've done, no regrets at all.
