Exclamation Headlight's Question.. Im a n00b, but i need help to become one of ya!

As i mentioned in the Subject, "I' am a n00b" when it comes to hookn up civic's or any car. The only thing that i have done to my car was to buy the TYC Projectors (black housing), but i didnt install them yet, im still looking at which bulbs i should get =\ This is my question..

In the following pictures these cars front headlight have a blue or purplish color to them. Is that the bulb? or H.I.D's? I dont know, thats why I' am asking

vtec99's

Im sorry for the n00b question... I did however do a search, and i wasnt able to find the answer, so i did try the search!

Also, which bulbs can i get that give off a blue color that are legal? 100%?

BTW: I talked to a local police officer about clearing my headlights, and he said, "No, You must keep the orange reflector in the headlights, if you dont you will be written up a ticket" This is on Long Island, NY (Thats why im gettin the TYC Projectors )

yeah, it's illegal in most places to NOT have your orange deflectors, but i don't think any of them care. the blue/purple is reflection of the coating on the bulbs, which are usually fake hid bulbs

The bulb and refelector laws all depend on your state, but in most places, both are illegal. It just depends on if the cops around you are *******s or not.

hey plux, if those are the angel eyes, i've heard a few bad things about them. everyone says they look good, but the circle LED goes out pretty quickly. the one guy that was saying this said he couldn't replace it. most people who consider the angel eyes end up getting the TYCs cuz they're more reliable, i guess. just letting you know...

yea, they come with bulbs in them, but i dont know if they are good or not =\ My mom being the woman she is went to the local mechanic and asked about changing the headlights, and the kid said that he ****ed up on his, and that i shouldnt do it, cause my whole car would get messed up... From there my mom is being all pissy about me changing them... I read the whole DIY on clearing the headlights, so its basically the same thing, and it looks so easy =\

I think the guy just wants us to pay him to install them

I think i would be able to do it... He also said that his whole left side is messed up from installing new headlights on his DODGE NEON (some electrical problem) :zbsflag:
